Structural Biology and Bio Computing (SBBC) Lab

Prof. J. Jeyakanthan has been concentrating on three major thrust areas such as Structural Biology, Computer Aided Drug Design and Bio-Computing. He has 25 years of Research experience and his research focus on the Structural and Functional aspects of model organisms Thermus thermophilus HB8 and Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3 (which shares similarity to human genome) along with the disease associated targets like Cancer (Pak1), Diabetes (SIRT4), Chikungunya (nsP2 Protease), Dengue (STAT2), Filariasis (lysine biosynthesis proteins of Wolbachia endosymbiont of Brugia malayi), Malaria (Plasmodium falciparum)and nosocomial infection caused by ESKAPE Pathogens. Also, his group is involved in the identification of druggable targets from the clinical isolates of Nocardia species.
